Q: What if I go over the $5,000 budget?
A. Then you go over. Your ending number will be negative.
Q: Isn't that bad?
A: For the assignment, no. In real life, yes. The travel agent would tell the couple that their budget is too low for the place and things they want to do. They would have to either decide to increase their budget or eliminate some things to do or how long they'd stay. You don't have to worry about any of that for this assignment. Just present to me that you planned a trip that has a -$1345 budget.
Q: Do I have to do the budget part?
A: It is worth half of the points for the project, so I would. Don't forget that the "budget part" includes the cost of each item you plan in your main project. i.e. "go to a soccer game" as one of your things to do, should have a line in your budget on how much going to a soccer game will cost.
Q: I can't find any flights because google says that travel is restricted. What do I do?
A: While it may be true that travel is restricted, it doesn't mean there are no flights going at all. There will be a little oval link just below that warning that says "search flights". This will give you flights.
Q: I did that and it still said there were no flights to show. Now what?
A: It is likely that you are using two airports that don't have an easy connection. You are also probably on Google. Sites like Kayak, Expedia, etc. make money when you book through them, Google is more of an informational public service. When you are flying from non-international airports, you likely have to take multiple flights. You have two options. Using Google search two separate flights, one from Vegas to the biggest airport near your location, and then from that biggest airport to the location you want. Option two is doing the search on Expedia or Kayak, etc. Because they want you to book through them, they will do the leg work of finding all of the connecting flights for you.
Q: What if I can't find the flight number?
A: It is probably hiding in plain sight. Sometimes it gets mixed up because it is with all the other numerical information, like time of departure or aircraft number. If you have found a flight, and know how much it costs, you can screen shot that information and either include it in your project or email it to me and I can respond by telling you where the flight number is and all that.
